As a Funeral Service Assistant, you will learn about every aspect of a funeral, checking identities, maintaining paperwork and meeting family wishes by carrying out jewellery and floral requests. This varied high profile role in your local community will involve acting as a pallbearer and assisting with the preparation of coffins and the deceased in the mortuary. With a valid driving licence, you will also help to keep our vehicles clean and tidy and drive them to collect documents and the deceased.
Someone who takes pride in your appearance and is passionate about helping people and doing everything with care and respect, you must be a good listener and communicator who can strengthen our relationships with clergy, doctors and nursing homes. Calm, professional and a supportive team player, you should also be willing to take part in night rotas and work some unsociable hours. Whatever your background, if you are interested in a long-term career in funeral services, we will provide you with all the training and support you need.
