As a Senior Funeral Service Assistant your duties are varied dependant on location. These could include the booking of funerals maximising the effective use of our hearses and limousines, liaising with our local funeral homes and third parties such as local crematoria. You could also be responsible for co-ordinating transfers and planning the preparation of the deceased being brought into our care. You may also be involved within our coffin preparation area and be required to lift and carry heavy or uneven weights.
You will also be involved with driving and cleaning all types of funeral vehicles, bearing and assisting on funerals when necessary, transferring deceased, preparation duties and coffin lining and trimming. You may also be needed to work during the night, at weekends and over bank holidays, taking part in our out-of-hours duty roster.
A full driving licence is required and you should have a smart appearance with the ability to communicate easily with all types of people.
