As a 2nd Line Support Engineer within our IS department. In line with ITIL framework you will be responsible for the effective ownership of technical incidents and requests through to resolution including supplier liaison.
You will also take part in the deployment of technical releases and patches. You will ensure that software and firmware packages are upgraded correctly and compliant with IS standards. The up keep of knowledge base documentation and service capabilities will also be a key part of this role. Other responsibilities includes Implementation of new equipment along with business requests for IS assistance on projects which will occasionally require working unsocial hours so a flexible approach to working hours is a must.
You will have strong personal organisational and customer service skills to ensure solutions are accurate and delivered in the shortest time with the ability to communicate in a professional manner. A good understanding of the retail business is highly desirable as well as previous experience of being able to recognise business impact and establish priorities.
You will also be required to provide out of hours support on critical calls between 19:00 and 22:00 on week nights and through-out the weekend in a 1 in 7 week rolling rota. Working across all business areas the role is primarily based in Lichfield, however you will be required to work in the outlying business units therefore you must holds a current UK driving license.
