Central England Co-operative partners with Adaptive Business Support to assist in the recruitment of colleagues for each of our new store openings. This is managed through a Sector Based Work Academy programme. Each programme is made up of pre-employment learning and work experience resulting in a guaranteed job interview for those potential colleagues who have participated successfully in the programme. The opportunity to gain work experience in one of our foodstores enables you to develop skills and gain experience in a real environment. In return our store colleagues have the opportunity to work with applicants to ensure they are suited to the environment and Society as well as enabling existing colleagues to develop their mentoring, supervisory and coaching skills. 70% of candidates who commence the Co-operative Sector Based Work Academy programme progress on to permanent employment with the Society.
